Fendt and Stucchi: a partnership driving innovation in the agricultural sector
Fendt is one of the most
recognized brands worldwide in the agricultural machinery industry. For over 90
years, the German manufacturer—part of the AGCO Corporation—has been developing
cutting-edge tractors and agricultural machines, focusing on technology,
reliability, and Smart Farming solutions aimed at improving efficiency and
productivity in agricultural operations.
The collaboration between Fendt and Stucchi spans more than thirty years and is built on a shared vision: developing increasingly efficient, clean, and reliable hydraulic systems, in line with the needs of modern agriculture.
From the very beginning, Fendt has chosen to use Stucchi flat face quick couplings in the hydraulic systems of its tractors. Flat face technology represents one of the areas in which Stucchi has developed strong expertise over time, contributing to the widespread adoption of this standard in the hydraulic connection industry. This solution allows for a significant reduction of oil spillage during connection and disconnection, while also minimizing the risk of contamination within the hydraulic circuit—key factors in ensuring long-term performance and supporting environmental protection, an increasingly important aspect in the development of modern agricultural machinery.
The challenge: a modular rear tractor
solution
More than ten years ago, Fendt involved Stucchi in the development of a new solution for the tractor rear hydraulic system. The goal was to create a modular system capable of accommodating different coupling configurations within the same casting cavity: ISO A female couplings in ½” and ¾”, as well as 5/8” flat face couplings.
For Stucchi, this represented an exciting
challenge. The result was the development of the Neptune cast iron block,
a solution specifically designed for Fendt and the demands of working in
agriculture.
The Neptune system introduces a modular approach through easily replaceable cartridge units, allowing the integration of flat face couplings at the rear of the tractor while ensuring flexibility and ease of maintenance. This technology enables the full benefits of flat face couplings: improved cleanliness, reduced contamination, and enhanced hydraulic system efficiency.
The block also features a patented front sealing system, which protects the circuit from external contamination without the need for protective caps. An ergonomic lever allows the operator to relieve residual pressure in the circuit before connection or disconnection, making operations easier and safer. The system also includes a breakaway function, designed to prevent damage to hydraulic connections in the event of accidental disconnection.
Thanks to its high flow capacity and low pressure drop, the Neptune block has been adopted in Fendt tractors of the mid-power and high-power range.

Power Beyond and front attachment
solutions
The collaboration between the two companies
has also extended to the development of couplings for the Power Beyond
system, compliant with ISO 17567 Class 2 and compatible with ISO
16028 flat face technology. As required by the standard, the pressure line
coupling has been designed with a specific system that prevents connection when
the tractor is running and the circuit is under pressure, avoiding unintended
implement activation and ensuring maximum operator safety.
This system allows the tractor to deliver
high hydraulic flow directly to external equipment, improving overall
performance.
For front attachment connections, Fendt has also selected the Stucchi A-FS series, developed with a special front sealing system that prevents dirt from entering the hydraulic circuit and eliminates the need for protective caps.
A partnership based on shared values
The collaboration between Fendt and Stucchi is the result of a long-standing partnership built on continuous knowledge sharing and a common drive for innovation.
Sustainability, environmental responsibility,
technological innovation, and safety are values
shared by both companies and guide the development of hydraulic solutions for
modern tractors.
Over the years, this partnership has led to
the development of important technical solutions and continues today with new
projects, with the aim of continuously improving machine performance and
contributing to the evolution of agriculture in the future.
